My Approach

Therapy with me is both reflective and practical. In sessions, we talk through what’s happening in your life, explore patterns that feel stuck, and build tools you can use outside of therapy. I pay close attention to the connection between emotions and the body, helping you understand why you might feel overwhelmed, shut down, on edge, emotionally heavy, or disconnected. Along the way, I offer gentle psychoeducation around the nervous system, attachment, and how your experiences have shaped the ways you cope and respond so these patterns begin to make more sense.

As we build more steadiness, we can begin to gently explore where these patterns come from. This might include looking at past experiences, early relationships, and attachment patterns to understand how certain ways of coping developed over time. At times, we may also notice different “parts” of you that learned to protect or adapt, meeting each with curiosity and compassion.

Throughout sessions you’ll learn simple, body-based and mindfulness skills to help navigate stress, low mood, and intense emotions while feeling more steady in your body. We might use grounding techniques, breathing exercises, or coping strategies drawn from a variety of therapies. The goal is not just insight, but real-life, embodied change, so you leave sessions with both deeper understanding and practical support.

My practice is neurodiversity-affirming and flexible. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and I adapt our work to different learning styles, sensory needs, and ways of processing. Whether you prefer talking things through, slowing down into the body, using visuals, or learning concrete skills, we’ll find approaches that feel supportive and accessible for you.

Approaches I draw from include:

  • Trauma-informed care

  • Somatic, body-based approaches

  • Attachment-based therapy

  • Parts work (inner parts/inner child)

  • DBT skills

  • Mindfulness-based practices
