My Approach

Therapy with me is both reflective and practical. In sessions, we talk through what’s happening in your life, explore patterns that feel difficult to shift, and build tools you can use outside of therapy. I pay close attention to the connection between emotions, the nervous system, and the body, helping you understand why you might feel overwhelmed, shut down, on edge, emotionally heavy, or disconnected. Along the way, I offer gentle psychoeducation about the brain, nervous system, attachment, and stress responses so your experiences and patterns begin to make more sense, often with less shame and self-blame.

As therapy unfolds and more steadiness develops, we may begin exploring where some of these patterns come from. This can include looking at past experiences, early relationships, attachment dynamics, or the different “parts” of you that learned to protect, adapt, or survive in certain environments. Rather than viewing these responses as flaws, we work toward understanding them with more curiosity, compassion, and flexibility.

Throughout our work, you’ll learn simple body-based and mindfulness tools to help navigate stress, low mood, anxiety, and intense emotions while feeling more grounded and connected to yourself. Depending on your needs, we might use grounding practices, breathing exercises, somatic awareness, or coping strategies drawn from different therapeutic approaches. The goal is not just insight, but meaningful and embodied change, so you leave sessions with both deeper understanding and practical support for everyday life.

My practice is neurodiversity-affirming and flexible. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and I adapt our work to different learning styles, sensory needs, and ways of processing. Whether you prefer talking things through, slowing down and tuning into the body, using visuals, or learning concrete skills, we’ll find approaches that feel supportive, collaborative, and accessible for you.

Approaches I draw from include:

  • Trauma-informed care

  • Somatic, body-based approaches

  • Attachment-based therapy

  • Parts work (inner parts/inner child)

  • DBT skills

  • Mindfulness-based practices
